Project Details
Mr. Hofman wanted a vintage style stamp poster (16.5″ x 22″) to celebrate his WWII P51 Mustang “Boo-Man Choo“. The challenge: Create this illustration using only 8 colors for future screen printing.

Process
I presented 3 rough outlines for Ray to review and decide which he’d like to flesh out. Once I got the right pose it was a matter of adding appropriate colors and details while separating the elements with a limited color scheme.
Reflection
I had the wing ailerons in the wrong position in my rough draft. Thankfully we corrected it before the final version. I love how this one turned out! Planning around an 8-color limitation was a bit challenging, but I loved every minute of it! I believe Ray was fairly happy with how this one turned out, as well! 🙂
