Project Details
Peak wanted to showcase their IsoPort CT tool by illustrating how it functions and also show that it can activate a multi-stage frac system.
My role
Concept, storyboarding, animator, editor
Tools
Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects
Process
I would meet with the Peak sales and engineering teams and develop a storyline and storyboards for the animation. Once that step is done, I would pull all the tools into a scene and make sure the company textures and lighting (decided on before my arrival with the company) were set properly, then render a single frame to make sure everything looks good. Based on our storyboards I would animate and set key frames to render low-res, non-textured scenes and present these to engineering and sales to make sure everything is animated correctly. Then I would render each scene in high-res, and compile everything in After Effects.
Reflection
These animations were designed as a marketing tool for the sales team. They would present these to their potential customers and speak over them explaining how everything works. I always wanted to rework these to make them independent by adding background music, sfx and a voiceover. That way they can stand on their own without a guide to explain them.
